Harassment In The Workplace

Investigating Allegations of Harassment and Sexual Harassment in the Workplace

All workers are entitled to a safe and healthy workplace. Any inappropriate conduct, such as bullying, harassment, or sexual harassment, must be reported to the supervisor or manager immediately.

WorkSafeBC defines bullying and harassment as ” any inappropriate conduct or comment by a person towards a worker that the person knew or reasonably ought to have known would cause the worker to be humiliated or intimidated but excludes any reasonable action taken by an employer or supervisor relating to the management and direction of workers or the place of employment.”

Employers are responsible for investigating workplace harassment complaints and incidents under the BC Human Rights Code and WCA.
At Interior Safety Network, we are trained to conduct workplace allegations of harassment and sexual harassment.
At the employer’s request, we will provide an external independent investigator licensed as a private investigator and trained in harassment investigations by the Workplace Institute.

The investigator will conduct the entire investigation and submit a report with all findings. Our investigations are confidential, thorough, and respectful of all sides involved in inappropriate acts of bullying or harassment.
